The LeapFrogs are "Going on a Bear Hunt..."
The LeapFrogs had a very relaxing day Bear Hunting and enjoying the great outdoors inside.
We had a fishing game that rotated while turned on. That was a big hit!
Tents were erected in our room along with woodland creatures in the sensory bin, build-a-bug trays and a fun welcome art activity.
Ms. Val and Ms. Laura worked with each child to make a brown bear footprint. We will finish these projects after they dry.
Meanwhile, Ms. Kerry was cooking up a storm with the kids in the play kitchen.
We read We're Going on a Bear Hunt at story time while holding onto a soft bear. We used the forest creatures to count to 10, and we also introduced counting backwards from 10-1.
We enjoyed a snack of clementines, blackberries, cheese bites and pretzels. We then did another craft -- decorating binoculars that we'd use for our bear hunt!
In music, we sang, clapped and counted to camping and bear songs. We got to hear Mrs. Turner play the dulcimer and we used bean bags to dance. Then it was time to hunt for bears!
Bears were hidden all over the GFCC hallways and the LeapFrogs delighted in using their binoculars to spy these bears! They found bears high and low and in many different colors.
Great hunting LeapFrog friends!
