The Building Blocks have been busy studying about pets, nature, and the Rainforest. One of our families brought in their pet hermit crab, "Hermie." We learned interesting facts about Hermit crabs and Hermie was brave enough to come out and say, "Hello."
Spring is a wonderful month for making beautiful artwork for the hallway and bulletin board. The children have been learning about the colors in the rainbow and have been painting beautiful rainbows. ROYGBIV is an acronym used for the sequence of hues commonly described as making up a rainbow. The Building Blocks learned that ROYGBIV stands for: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green Blue, Indigo and Violet. This will help them to remember the order of colors in a rainbow.
In celebration of National Musical Instrument Week, Mrs. Turner taught the children how to play kazoos. This was a fun experience for the children. The teachers were treated to a short concert of songs by the students.
The Rainforest is full of interesting animals that children do not see at the zoo. We have been learning about gorillas, jaguars, monkeys, anteaters, sloths, toucans, and macaws. A beautiful array of macaws and jungle flowers, made by our class, can be seen in the hallway by our classroom. Drop by and take a look!!
