In preparation for the public school lunch room experience, Transition and Four-Year-Old students ate lunch in the church Fellowship Hall. The church chef served these students chicken nuggets, tater tots, strawberries, yogurt, cookies and a juice box.
After receiving instructions from Mrs. Duncan, the children got to experience:
Paying for their own lunch
Getting their tray and silverware
Going through the food line to get their food
Carrying their tray to the table to eat with their class
Eating within a designated time frame
Cleaning up their space and lining up to return to class.
The Blue Bears did an excellent job maneuvering their trays, eating lunch, and then throwing all of their trash away. We are proud to report that there were no spills!
2. Transition Graduation 2016 -- Thursday, May 26, 2016
"Oh the Places You Will Go, When You Use What You Know" was the theme of the 2016 Graduation. The fifteen Blue Bears in this year's Transition class have certainly been using what they have learned throughout the year to be able to move on to Kindergarten. These children are confident, independent thinkers but also team players, role models, loving, caring, and kind. All of them follow the class motto: Blue Bears are Fair. We Care, and We Share!
We cannot wait to see the places these Blue Bears will go as they journey on...
An Excerpt from Oh, The Places You’ll Go
By Dr. Seuss
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You’re on your own,
And you know what you know,
And you are the guy who’ll decide where to go.
