Wanda Johnson grew up in a community called Longview outside of Hickory, North Carolina. She attended Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina and received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in Teaching. In 2001, Wanda completed the requirements for her National Board Certification (or National Board for Professional Teaching Standards - NBPTS) She used her educational training and knowledge well and taught Art in the state of North Carolina for 35 years.
Wanda has two grown children and is married to her husband Dave. Many of you might know Dave as GFCC's "Go To" guy. Dave and Wanda are an awesome team. He builds it, and she makes it beautiful with her many artistic talents. They are the creators of our fabulous Christmas parade float and many of the new additions to our playground.
Wanda's grandchildren attended GFCC, and she has volunteered at our school since 2013. She is a member of Greenwood Forest Baptist Church.
Wanda lives in Chatham County on Highway 751. In her "free" time, she enjoys reading, art, and watching her favorite crime shows on TV.
We welcome Wanda Johnson to the staff of GFCC as a co-teacher in the Yellow Bears Transition classroom.
