Dede Winterrowd grew up along the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan in the small town of Ludington, Michigan. She attended Grand Valley State University and Aquinas College (both in Michigan). Dede earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Grand Valley State University and her Teacher Certification in K-12 Music Education and K-5 All Subjects from Aquinas College.
In Michigan, Dede taught music to children ranging in age from Preschool to 12th grade. Most recently, she has been a substitute teacher at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic School and Preschool in Cary.
Dede and her husband live in Cary and they have two adopted children that they call their "two treasures." Their son and daughter both attend Cardinal Gibbons High School.
Dede enjoys singing and acting in musical theatre productions; walking and hiking; gardening; playing tennis; and spending summers in Michigan with her family and friends. "Peace Begins With a Smile," a quote by Saint Teresa of Calcutta, is her favorite quote.
We welcome Dede Winterrowd to the staff of GFCC as a co-teacher in the Apples class.
