Rumble in the Jungle - Week 2, Day 1 - June 24, 2019

Dear Camper Families,

Today went beautifully!

We met new friends during arrival.

Mrs. Cassell read Rumble in the Jungle by Giles Andreae.

We lined up by teams and during our first Outside Time, we ran relays and did a giant obstacle course with Camp Manager, Avery.

For Snack we had jungle trail mix and banana.

We had our first round of Centers and met Mozart, the Ball Python and Dottie, the Fire Bellied Toad and her guppy friends.

We waved scarves during Music with Mrs. Turner and played in a drum circle.

Our next stop was Creature Feature with Mrs. Sanabia where we chattered like monkeys and learned about the four layers of the rainforest: emergent layer, canopy layer, understory, and the forest floor. These layers host several species of tropical animals and tropical plants.

Following lunch during our second Outside Time, we had frozen yogurt and squirted water bottles on the playground.

A Few Notes About Camp:

  • Carpool is at 9:00 and 1:00.

  • Snack is provided.

  • Peanut-free lunches are provided by you.

  • We will keep your towel here for the week so you don’t have to carry it back and forth.

Three of our Camp Managers took pictures today, so be sure to keep scrolling through all of them below so you can see your child in action!

Get a good night's sleep, and we'll see you in the Jungle tomorrow.
