Laura was born in Virginia but she and her family moved to Cary when Laura was 2 years old. At this point, she considers herself a North Carolina native and actually even attended GFCC when she was a little girl.
Laura attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and received her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Design and a minor in Business. Her first job out of college was as a Broadcast Designer for a local news station. She worked there for six years until she had her first son and decided to stay at home to raise her children.
Laura and her husband, Daniel, have lived in Apex for 11 years. They have two sons - their older son is a rising third grader and their younger son is a rising Kindergartener for the 2019/2020 school year. Both of her boys attended GFCC in the 3s and 4s classrooms.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time with her family, baking, and reading. She also likes being creative ad using her artistic side whenever she can. GFCC also appreciates Laura sharing her creative and artistic talents with us here at school. Thank you Laura.
In October of 2018, Laura joined GFCC as a Substitute Teacher and then in January of 2019 as a Tuesday/Thursday Floater for the Leapfrogs and Lucky Ducks. This year, we welcome Laura to the staff of GFCC as a co-teacher in the Yellow Puppies 3s class on Tuesday and Thursday.
