🏫 OHHHHH What a Difference a Month Makes!!

🍎 Happy "Good Friday" GFCC Family!

🍎 One month ago today (on Friday, March 13), the 2019-2020 school year at GFCC ended very abruptly by an unwelcome guest named COVID-19.

🍎 We have all missed each other so much and have missed going to school.

🍎 We have had to find new ways to stay connected. Who would have thought that ZOOM would come to mean computer time with our friends instead of the sound that a car makes? πŸš—

🍎 We are so thankful for technology -- ZOOM sessions; Instagram Live; Story times and Music Times by Video; Facebook, Instagram and Website posts; emails; and even snail mail.

🍎 Technology has allowed us to continue to be able to offer activities and experiences for our GFCC children.

🍎 We are thankful for our dedicated director, staff, teachers, GFCC Committee, and Greenwood Forest Baptist Church who have gone above and beyond to try and keep us all working and playing together but separate in these unbelievable, surreal times.

🍎 Finally, we are most thankful for the wonderful GFCC families who have been supportive of our decision to end our school year early so that all of us could practice social distancing at home with our individual families and try to flatten that nasty Coronavirus curve as quickly as possible.

🍎 Some of you have written some very sweet and kind comments to us about GFCC and our early closing. I've listed a compilation of them below. Thank you for all of your supportive responses.

🍎 OHHHHHHH... What a Difference a Month Makes... I hope you will enjoy a sampling of pictures (after the comments) from some of the special moments we've shared this month, being separate but always together as one Big, Happy GFCC Family!

🍎 Remember to Show Your Heart! ❀️

Compilation of Comments from Our GFCC Families

  • 🏫 I'd like to thank you both, and everyone at GFCC, for all the work you are doing to make this difficult transition as easeful as possible for everyone. Your efforts and grace with a difficult and sad situation is not overlooked by us - so thank you so very much.

  • 🏫 Thank you very much all your efforts and I do hope these times will end soon and we will come back to GFCC.

  • 🏫 Thank you so much for all you do. We will definitely find a way to show our appreciation for our excellent teachers as soon as we can.

  • 🏫 Thank you for all your work. These certainly are sad times. Stay healthy and we will see you for the Fall semester.

  • 🏫 We hope that the school is able to weather this situation. We have loved our time at GFCC and look forward to when our daughter, can return to her next class there in the fall.

  • 🏫 [Our son] misses his school and he's been so crazy, WE miss school! We can't wait to see y'all in the fall.

  • 🏫 we are so sad this year had to end abruptly !

  • 🏫 We are very much looking forward to being back to normal life and being able to see all the friends again. We are very happy and proud to be part of the GFCC family and we hope you are all safe and healthy.

  • 🏫 We really miss our GFCC family!

  • 🏫 Thank you so much! [Our son] (and the whole family) misses everyone so much and he (and his younger brother!) can’t wait to start school again in the fall! Hope you all are doing well and staying safe!

  • 🏫 Thank you for ABSOLUTELY everything this year. We are so thankful for these few sweet months for her in the yellow puppies class. You have cultivated such a lovely, thriving, and nurturing community. We are sad to see the current situation’s effect on GFCC. We pray that the drastic measures being taken will allow you to come back stronger in the 2020-21 school year. We are so excited about the Penguins class next year! We love you all, and hope you and your families stay well. With so much admiration...

  • 🏫 We are very saddened, but also completely understand, why school will be closed for the remainder of the year. I must admit that I am tearful thinking that this is our last year at Greenwood Forest and that we were unable to have a proper goodbye, but most of all that I will not have an opportunity to express my sincerest gratitude. GFCC has helped me raise two children and I can't even begin to describe how lucky I feel to have found people like you. I really hope that when it is safe, we can find a way to get together so that we can give our thanks (and I will probably shed some tears), so that you all know how much you have meant, and will continue to mean, to our family. Please stay safe GFCC family and we hope to see you all soon.

  • 🏫 Thank you guys for everything! We miss you all!

  • 🏫 I am so sad that we won’t be able to finish the school year, but I completely understand your decision. We loved our teachers this year. I hope they will all stay around so that my younger kids will get to have them in the coming years! [The teachers] were especially wonderful in helping [our son] gain confidence and fall back in love with going to school. I am so grateful to them for that! Thanks to everyone at GFCC for all that you do for our babies.
